BOREE SOLAR FARM COMMUNITY UPDATE Located approximately 21kms southeast of Dubbo, NSW, the proposed Boree Solar Farm will directly connect into the existing Essential Energy network, and includes a new substation, enabling efficient connection into the electrical grid. Environmental and technical survey work for the proposed Boree Solar Farm (the Project) has only recently begun, and these field studies and specialist assessments will continue through to late 2026. Studies, design and project layout The current Project Layout (presented in the Scoping Report) is preliminary and indicates the area that will be further investigated through the technical assessments to be completed during the EIS phase of the Project. The different technical studies, such as biodiversity, cultural heritage, noise, visual impacts, traffic, and land capability, are often connected. Because of this, we look at all constraints and opportunities together once key study results are available, rather than adjusting the design based on one study alone. This integrated approach helps ensure the Project layout balances environmental factors, engineering requirements, and feedback from neighbours and the wider community. Even small changes in one area can impact the overall design. The Project team will share updated layouts once the studies have progressed enough to support a thorough, well-informed review. Additional updates will also be provided in Project newsletters as we reach major milestones. Your input helps us understand potential impacts on the community and consider ways to minimise or mitigate them where possible. We acknowledge that not all community members engage in the same way. That is why we will continue to provide multiple pathways to engage with our team with timing designed to suit local circumstances.
